Our Spring Meeting was held in Salisbury, Maryland, at the City of Salisbury Fire Department Station 16. Breakfast and lunch was provided by the Salisbury Fire Department Volunteer Auxiliary.
During our business meeting, we held elections for President and Vice-President. Alice Legare-Martinek of Bowie, Maryland, was elected President, and CJ Reading was elected Vice President; both will serve a two-year term. Draft minutes of the meeting are included here.
Our training was presented by Paula Montgomery, the Lead Outreach and Education Coordinator for MDE. The presentation is available for download below.
During the presentation, Mrs. Montgomery discussed legislation passed this year in Maryland’s General Assembly, Senate Bill SB872, which updated language on the definition of a Rental Dwelling unit. We’ve included the legislation here.
During our general conversation, we discussed another piece of legislation, HB 153, which will require air conditioning in Residential Rental Apartments. This legislation has passed both houses but has not yet been sent to the Governor. We’ve included that as well, below.
